karma and unsought gifts

let’s pretend that science has proven that karma is a thing. Your words and actions will influence what happens to you in the future. How (if at all) will you change your ways?

I actually don’t have to pretend, because karma seems real to me.

The illustrations above are a serious description of life.

We get “gifts” that we don’t want to use.

We have talents that we don’t enjoy practicing.

This is (I believe) a consequence of our past karma.

The only way to deal with it is to put in as much effort as possible into using these gifts for the greater good – which usually means trying to do what is good for our fellow humans.

It sucks.

It’s not fun.

It’s hard work.

I fear that is what incarnation is all about – it’s hard work, and we got into this mess due to karma.

Actions have consequences, and karma has vipaka.
